I think it’s funny, though, that you can talk in a general way about how wishing without working is fruitless, but then when you talk about your own achievements you fall back on a lot of passive language: “fallen into,” etc.... You worked hard for these things!<BR/><BR/>And we all know that getting beat up by your brother only builds character. Right? Right? Well, you could probably vilify him in a memoir one day.<BR/><BR/>Once I was at a museum function in Orlando, and there was a woman hired to dance around half-nude in a terrarium. She was supposed to be a nymph, and we were encouraged to write our wishes on paper and lob them at her. I, drunk, wished for the cute bartender to make out with me. She read the wish to herself, mimed “scandalized,” and then did a magic dance to help my wish along. Next thing I knew, the bartender had invited me to his pickup truck to smoke weed and talk about how his wife had tricked him into fatherhood. I booked it. <BR/><BR/>I never did get that make-out session, but it was nice to figure out that I didn’t actually want it... and set my mind to achieving more important goals, like getting out of Orlando.<BR/><BR/>Congrats again on Bucknell.
